![]() Today’s second reading (2 Peter 3:8-14) calls us to repentance, to strive to be better. The author signals to us that “the day of God” is coming, and that the new heaven and earth is coming too. Oftentimes people think of “the day of God” as a terrible and chaotic event. A different approach to the reading would be to take the coming “day of God” as our present moment. As we await Jesus this advent, this reading asks us to right wrongs. With our neighbors, families, and friends. Today, think about how you can better focus on what is important in the present. How can I approach those around me with care? How can I work toward peace and unity in my interactions and community? This is how we prepare for “the day of God”. Photo by Gerome Viavant on Unsplash
