Today’s first reading (Isaiah 35:1-10) uses a lot of imagery. “The desert and the parched land will exult”, “Strengthen the hands that are feeble”, “Streams will burst forth in the desert”.
The images speak of new life and restoration. As the year comes to an end, we may ask ourselves “Where is my time? Where is my restoration?” This is especially true as we become busier and use more of our human resources. Can a “stream” come out of my “desert” of a heart?
Spend some time today praying for restoration in the way you believe you need it. Or ask God to make you aware of what you need in this moment.
